The Progress
A total of 108 golfers teed off on Saturday, April 10, at the Casa Blanca Golf Club in Mesquite. It was the annual golf tournament in support of the Mesquite Lutheran Pre-school and Child Care Center.
Co-chairpersons Brandy Templeton and Darlene Carpenter said that they were gratified by the near-record turnout for the tournament’s 19th year. They expressed their thanks to the congregation and to the community for their continueing support of the Center.
Sack lunches and T-shirts were provided to all participants. In addition, there were many items donated by local businesses and individuals for a silent auction and raffle following the round of golf.
Templeton, who is also the Director of the Center, stressed that The Mesquite Lutheran Preschool and Child Care Center is a state certified facility.
It is staffed by trained and certified childcare workers and has 28 children enrolled in the preschool program with room for more. Eighty-nine children can be accommodated in the childcare program.
Carpenter stated that the Center is always seeking qualified staff and that there are openings now that people are returning to work and need affordable day care for their children.
