‘Cactus and Lace’ Opens A New Overton Office

By NICK YAMASHITA

The Progress

The Cactus and Lace team includes co-owner Lorri Fabbi, Torrey Jones, Kayla Doty, co-owner Rachel Garcia, Amanda Monk and Sunny Blake.

A local thriving wedding planning business has found a permanent office headquarters in downtown Overton. The business known as Cactus and Lace has moved to just a hop, skip, and jump away to 263 S. Moapa Valley Blvd. The new building is just behind The Front Porch Flower shop.

“This new location helps us with storage of photo props,” said business co-owner Rachel Garcia. “It is a nice office, and conference room to better serve our customers, And it has a studio for photoshoots, and more.”

The business was started in 2014 by Lori Fabbi, Garcia, and Reyanna Jarrel. Fabbi and Garcia are still with the business. Since then more personnel have been added including Amanda Monk, Torrey Jones and Kayla Doty. All are excellent photographers and highly gifted in multiple ways to benefit the business.

“We are all work well together and have interchangeable roles,” said Garcia. “We all can help each other and also fulfill different tasks so we can make sure our customers are happy.”

Cactus and Lace has become one of the premier wedding planners and services in the area with customers worldwide. “We get clients from overseas, nearby, and all around. They are people wanting to make Vegas their dream wedding location,” stated Monk.

Besides being planners, organizers, creative juice initiators, and photographers, these ladies have even more skill in working.

“We love to have fun, and we enjoy our jobs, but people do not realize how much work is involved,” said Monk. “We work hard and we get sweaty. We have had other temporary workers not last with us because of the workload.”

The hard work has paid off for them. Carrying one of the best reviews in Nevada and maintaining five stars on all to business critiques and review sites, the business keeps “rolling” on. They hosted about 45 weddings in 2019. Numbers were hit hard by COVID in 2020. But things have rebounded. At the moment there are 40 weddings worked out for 2021. And the business is already in the works to hit numbers of 50-60 in 2022.

“The new business location will help out with smoother transition with clients, supporting the community on events, and help build up our numbers and potential of what we can do,” said Garcia.

Both the newest members of the team, Kayla Doty and Torrey Jones, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work for Cactus and Lace.
“We all really care for each other, like family,” said Jones. “To assist and learn from such talented ladies is an incredible experience.”

Monk highlighted the primary mission of the business. “We just like to make people happy!” she said.
