On Monday, May 24, 2021 at approximately 5:04 a.m. Mesquite Dispatch received a report of a single vehicle accident near the intersection of West Pioneer Boulevard and Siena Lane.
Upon arrival, officers located a single vehicle which had run off the road and into a palm tree, which caused the vehicle to flip over and land on its roof. The vehicle was occupied only by the adult female driver, who was unresponsive. Officers immediately provided CPR to the driver until Mesquite Fire and Rescue arrived. Paramedics continued CPR and transported the driver to Mesa View Regional Hospital. Unfortunately, all life-saving efforts were unsuccessful and the driver was pronounced deceased.
Based on the results of the thorough accident investigation it is believed the female driver suffered a medical emergency immediately prior to the collision.
Police Chief MaQuade Chesley stated “all loss of life is tragic, especially when it occurs so suddenly and in uncertain conditions. On behalf of the entire police department, I offer our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the driver”.
The identity of the driver will be released at a later time by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
