Wanted Felon Caught In Logandale

By NICK YAMASHITA

The Progress

Nevada Highway Patrol with assistance from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) caught and arrested a wanted felon on Thursday, June 3, during the late afternoon.

According to a media release from LVMPD Northeast Section, officers discovered during the arrest process, that the vehicle driven by the subject was stolen out of Las Vegas.

“We assisted with the arrest and can’t give too much information,” said local Metro Sergeant Keegan Doty. “But the male was wanted for parole violation as he went missing from parole.”

The subject was found to have a distant social link to residents of Moapa Valley. “We have to remember that here we do have some residents we have to deal with on a consistent basis,” Doty said. “They do draw in some people of non-reputable character. So prevention is key.”

Doty then emphasized the lesson to be learned by local residents. “Please lock your vehicles and don’t leave anything valuable in them like firearms or jewelry,” he said. “Unlocked cars are easy targets. Simply locking your cars can go a long way.”

The arrested felon was taken into custody and booked for his outstanding felony warrant, Possession of Stolen Vehicle, and Prohibited Person Possession of Firearm.
