Preliminary investigation revealed that on Monday August 2, 2021, at approximately 7:20 P.M., a white 2002 Ford E-450 van was traveling northbound (wrong way) in the southbound travel lanes on I-15 approaching Clark County Mile Marker 78. At the same time, a black Dodge Charger was traveling southbound approaching the Ford van. The right front portion of the van struck the right front portion of the Charger causing the right rear passenger of the Charger to be ejected from the vehicle.
Both the right front passenger and the right rear passenger of the Dodge Charger succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash and were pronounced deceased on scene.
The identities of the deceased passengers will be provided by the Clark County Coroner’s Office once next of kin notifications have been made.
The 60-year-old driver of the white 2002 Ford E-450, Gary Lynn Muir (booking photo attached), was charged with the following:
• 2 Counts: DUI Resulting in Death NRS 484C.430 Felony
• 1 Count: DUI Resulting in Substantial Bodily Harm NRS 484C.110 Felony
• 1 Count: Drive Wrong Way on One Way Road NRS 484B.220.1 Misdemeanor
• 1 Count: Open Alcohol Container in Vehicle NRS 484B.150.2 Misdemeanor
