OBITUARY: Lawrence Roe

Lawrence Roe

Lawrence (Larry) William Roe passed away August 7, 2021 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He was born May 1, 1938 in Cassville, Wisconsin to Leona and Harold Roe.

After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and spent two years in Korea as a radio operator. After being honorably discharged, he moved to Denver, where he met Lois Love, his wife for 60 years. Together they raised two children.

Larry worked at Continental Can company for 19 years. He then became a Real Estate agent for 30 years. Larry was very involved in the American Legion Post 178 in Lakewood, CO. He was lifetime member and served as Commander for three years. He was also a member of the V.F.W., Elks club, Ham Radio Operator Licensee and Applewood Gold Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing and gambling. Larry enjoyed his retirement years by spending part-time in Mesquite, Nevada, during the winter for the past 17 years.

He is survived by his wife Lois; children: Barry Roe and Michelle (Roe) Avery; two brothers: Jim (Mary Lou) and Warren (Patty), along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, who knew and loved him. Larry will be greatly missed by all who knew, loved and respected him.

Funeral services are pending and will take place at Fort Logan, CO. A celebration of life will also be held at a later date.
