Arlene Jensen

Arlene Jensen, age 89, died Thursday, September 9, 2021 at her home in Mesquite, Nevada surrounded by family members. She was born February 11, 1932 in Mesquite to Leslie Moroni and Gurda Zell Tobler Thurston. On July 1, 1949 she married Nephi Jensen in the St. George LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on January 26, 2008.

Arlene lived most of her life in Mesquite. She was a hard worker and enjoyed supporting her husband as he farmed, worked construction and as they managed the Frost Spot Drive-In Restaurant. She was a great business woman and bookkeeper. Arlene was always faithful and devoted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was respected for her quiet leadership. She loved serving in the Temple and her weekly attendance with her friends. She enjoyed riding horses, collecting dolls and nice jewelry.

Survivors include three sons: Bruce (Pam) of Sunnyside, NV, Theron (Chris), and Kevin (Tina) both of Mesquite, NV; daughter in law, Katherine Jensen of CO; nineteen grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren and two sisters: Audrey Roberts and Maxine Ware, both of Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Valerie and one son, Shane.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Mesquite LDS Stake Center. Visitation will be from 9 – 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Mesquite Cemetery.
