Dora Cox Adams

Dora Cox Adams

Dora Cox Adams, 91, passed away on September 25, 2021 in her home in Logandale, NV. She was born on July 15, 1930 in St. George, UT to David Marriner Cox and Veda Belle Leavitt.

Dora was raised in Bunkerville, and attended school in Bunkerville, Las Vegas, and a short time in California. She was very athletic and participated in all of the school activities. She would race and do chin up contests with the boys (and win), act in school plays and perform with the band.

She married Mervin L. Adams in Bunkerrville, NV on June 7, 1948, and they were later sealed in the St. George, UT Temple for time and all eternity. They were very proud of the 69 years they were together and the family they raised.

Dora worked as an escrow clerk for many years in Battle Mountain, NV and Emmitt, ID, and was the best they had. She and Mervin later moved to Moapa Valley, NV to run the Wayne Newton Ranch in 1986.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and when a granddaughter started to take violin lessons, Dora did as well, and learned to play beautifully. She had an immense faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in every way.

Dora is survived by her two sons and one daughter: Jeffrey (Shauna), Miles, and Annie (Scott) Leavitt, all of Logandale; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; and her siblings: Clark (Janet) Cox and Eleanor Lavelle.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Mervin Adams; daughter, Cynthia; one great-grandaughter, Kaitlin Barrick; and her siblings: LaRae (Aldon) Smith and David Marriner (Nola) Cox.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logandale Chapel, 3245 N. Moapa Valley Blvd, Logandale NV, with the funeral at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Bunkerville Cemetery, Bunkerville, NV. A live-stream may be found at Dora Cox Adams Memorial Facebook Group.

The family invites you to leave a message or memory in their guest book, www.moapavalleymortuary.com.
