A record crowd turned out for the Grand Opening event of the new Boulevard Home Furniture store location in Mesquite on Wednesday, Oct. 27. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held early that morning just outside the front doors of the new store which is located at 1165 W. Pioneer Blvd.just behind its previous location.

A long line of expectant people assembled early that morning and patiently waited outside the store for the doors to open.

The Mesquite Chamber of Commerce presented the ribbon cutting ceremony in front of the large crowd. Mesquite Mayor Al Litman was the one to cut the ribbon. This was followed by a short speech by Marc and Tyler Wittwer, two key members of the family-owned business.

Over a thousand people attended the opening. Eight hundred and eighty people came through in the first 90 minutes of the store being open.

There were plenty of giveaways available to attract the crowd and to keep them happy. In addition, baked goods from Hole Foods Bakery in Mesquite were served to the guests.

The sales staff went to work immediately writing tickets for items the guests wanted to buy while customers could take advantage of the grand opening sale.
“We are so excited to have this new store opened just in time for the holidays with a store full of inventory in stock and no shipping problems,” said Chamber President/CEO Carol Kolson.

Marc Wittwer, CEO of the company’s Mesquite and St George stores said that he was happy to have the new, larger store open in Mesquite. “We own the building, and we are here to stay,” Wittwer said. “We have land next door and can expand in the future as the town grows.”

The new store located in the old Stage Stores building was completely renovated by Boulevard Home Furnishing for their new store. It is double the size of the previous Mesquite location just to the south. The new store is spacious, inviting and beautiful.

In November, all three of the company’s stores including Mesquite, St. George and Cedar City, will be celebrating the Boulevard Home Furniture business anniversary with a big anniversary sale.
