The Progress
There was a very enthusiastic group of young thespians gathered in the Mesquite Community Theater on Tuesday evening for a rehearsal of “A Neverland Christmas Carol.” The special holiday production is scheduled to open on Friday Dec. 3, at the local theater located at 140 North Yucca Street in Mesquite.
“A Neverland Christmas” blends the story of Peter Pan, and all of the classic Neverland characters, in with the timeless Charles Dickens tale of “A Christmas Carol.” It employs a mixed cast of children and adults. This cast includes 18 children ages 7-15.
The show will be presented at various times over the next two weeks. Showtimes are on December 3, 4, 10, 11 at 7 pm. Also matinee shows will take place on December 4 and 11 beginning at 2 pm.
The play is directed by Wendy Wolf-Killinger. Codirector and Music Director is Mitzi Bender. The play was written by Sherri Hannery Vevilli.
Advanced tickets may be purchased on online at MCTNV.com and VVTGNV.com, and at the Mesquite Community Theater box office which is open Thursdays 4-6 pm and Saturdays 1-3 pm. Tickets are also on sale at the door one hour prior to the performance.
