Celebrating a decade in business in Overton

An Overton auto repair shop marked its 10th anniversary in business last week. On Wednesday, Dec. 1, the staff at Cal’s Auto celebrated a decade in business at its 475 N. Moapa Valley Blvd. location.

Actually, the shop’s owners Cal and Lois Hall have been involved in the repair business at that location for longer than that. Cal has been fixing cars at the garage for 19 years now, although the first nine years were under different ownership. Lois came aboard to mind the business office about 15 years ago.

The couple purchased the business in December of 2011 and have seen significant growth since that time. “We have almost tripled the size of the business over the time we have owned it,” said Lois in an interview last week. “So we are staying very busy,”

With that in mind, Lois said that one of the greatest challenges of the business has been not having enough garage space.

“We could honestly double the number of bays we have and the number of technicians who work here and we still wouldn’t keep up with the demand,” she said. “We still would not be done with things as fast as people want us to be. But we do the best we can with what we have and we have a lot of loyal customers in the community.”

To show appreciation to those customers, Cal’s Repair is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a special prize drawing. Every customer that brings in a vehicle for repair work or maintenance during the month of December will be interested in the drawing for a chance to win a gift card at Pirate’s Landing restaurant in Logandale.

“We wanted to give away a nice family dinner at a local restaurant to show our gratitude to the community for all these years in business,” Lois said.
