The jolly man of the holidays made a special stop in Overton on Saturday, December 4. The kids of Moapa Valley were invited to get free photos with Santa at the Old Overton Gym. This special holiday photo-op came courtesy of the Wardley Real Estate team of Jeff Sommers and his daughter Danielle Terril.

This family-fun holiday event has become an annual tradition for the father-daughter team.
Sommers said that the event averages about 200 attendees each year. By 10 am on Saturday, 75 kids had already shown up. said Sommers.
“We do this every year just as a way to give back to the community,” Sommers said.

Of course, last year the pandemic required a year without the annual Santa visit. But that made everyone all the more happy to be back getting pictures of their kids and families with Santa on Saturday.

In addition to the visits with Santa there were also crafts for the youngstesrs. Kids were able to make reindeer and wreath ornaments during their visit.

The Sommers team covers all of the costs of the event including hiring and paying for a professional photographer. This year local talent Korindi Totten with her own company Korindi Photography was the one behind the camera.
“I love it!” Totten said. “This event is awesome, especially doing holiday pics with kids.”

The Sommers Team under Wardley Real Estate in Las Vegas is under the direction of Jeff Sommers as President. Sommers has been in the real estate field for over 39 years. But he started out as a licensed real estate attorney for California and Utah. He did that for a couple of years after attending law school at National University in San Diego, California.

“It wasn’t for me,” said Sommers of the law field. “I found my career in doing real estate sales.”
Sommers has been a resident of Moapa Valley since 2002 and has offered realty services within Moapa Valley since 2013.
“We are #2 Realtor in the Valley and #1 in being the best,” said Sommers.

Terril started in the real estate business right after graduating Moapa Valley High School in 2003. She lives in Logandale and is married to Mike Terrill with five kids, ages ranging from 6 to 13.
“I love serving the people in the community,” stated Terrill.

Besides the free Santa pictures for Moapa Valley residents, the Sommers Group also sponsors the Veteran’s Day Parade, a bucking chute at the Clark County Fair and Rodeo, is the main sponsor for the PTO Walkathon, supports the Grad Night Party and gives support to many other community events.

They also cover half of the buying and selling fees for Veterans who are buying or selling real estate.
“We love the Sommers team for all of their community involvement and support,” stated event goer Emily Winward.
