CHRISTMAS MESSAGE: Christmas Memories Involve Others

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,
In my life, I have recognized that hundreds of people have strengthened me as I have walked the path toward Christ. These individuals have been family and church members, colleagues, neighbors, and even strangers. Christmas helps me reflect on all these amazing people and their remarkable influence on my life. This year, I have relearned two simple lessons as I have done that.

First, I enjoy Christmases more when surrounded by those I love. Be it the sound of young hands of kids ripping through wrapping paper, or my wife playing Christmas songs on the piano, or friends caroling at my door, my memories of Christmas are uniquely impacted by those I love.

Second, my testimony of Christ as my Savior is strengthened when I worship with others. From early morning meetings with counselors and testimony meetings with members to youth summer camps alongside leaders and service projects with helpers, my grip on the iron rod is tighter because of my association with others.

So as I reflect on this Christmas, I hope that one of the gifts we are all able to give is that of ourselves. Make Christmas better because family and friends have you around. Also, of course be healthy, but recommit to attending Sunday worship meetings to encourage and be encouraged by others.

So as you make room for others in your life you make more room for the Savior. In the process you walk another step closer to fulfilling the two great commandments. Love God and love your neighbor.

My prayer this Christmas is for you to be happy and find ways to make others happy as well.
