The Progress
It was a big day of holiday fun at the Grant Bowler Elementary in Logandale on Thursday, Dec. 16. Kids could be seen running laps around the school playground while none other than Santa Claus himself was cheering them on in the race.
It was the annual Reindeer Run at Bowler Elementary. Kids from every age group at school were divided into smaller groups as they ran from one end of the school yard to the other. Some children wore Santa hats. Others donned reindeer antlers. But every one of them wore a smile on their face as they crossed the finish line.
Many family members gathered, just outside the chain link fence of the school grounds, to cheer for their students. And of course, Santa was there to encourage each child as they ran their hearts out.
Another special treat came in the form of the Clark County Parks and Recreation tumbling teams coached by teacher Cindy Olafson. The kids jumped, danced, and flipped to festive holiday music. Around 35 students make up the mini and advanced tumbling teams.
Teachers, students and parents made the event a memorable one again. It was a pleasant welcome to tradition for the kindergarten kids and a fun farewell to the fond tradition for the 5th graders. And it was just plain fitness fun for everyone else.
