LETTER: Flushing Away Public Safety

To Mayor Litman and Mesquite City Council members:

Something extremely disturbing has changed our Public Safety concerns in our City of Mesquite, Nevada.

All the public restroom signs located at the Jensen Trailside Playground & picnic area, all baseball fields, the children s Splash Pad & playground and the old brick gymnasium have been changed to ALL GENDER .

As a female senior there is no way I will feel safe in one of these restrooms and I can t even imagine any parent feeling safe with their child (female or male) using one of these restrooms! This appears to be an open invitation to every and all types of ILL WILLED people to openly prey on us. WAKE UP, common sense should tell you this is a WOKE path that we, The City of Mesquite, Nevada shouldn t go down.

What were you thinking, drinking, or smoking when you approved this change? Was there a public hearing about this? Where did the funding for this disgusting change come from? I am requesting you, our elected city council members to vote to change this back because you obviously found funding to make these changes, now find the funding to change these signs back.

I also would like to know the names of all council members who voted for these ALL GENDER signs and the names of those who opposed it (if any). As this is an election year for I feel the citizens of Mesquite have the right to know. The next Mesquite City Council meeting is on May 10 at 5:00 p.m. at Mesquite City Hall. Let them hear from you on this issue.
