Last week was 2022 Prom Week at Virgin Valley High School; and it was definitely a success. Throughout the week there were fun after-school activities that all led up to the Saturday night Prom event. There was a lot of school involvement during the week which made all of the activities that much more exciting.

Every day of VVHS Prom Week there were dress up days. The week started out with a Hawaiian out. Leis were handed out at school and students dressed up in their favorite Hawaiian attire. Also on Monday there was a drive-in movie at night. The movie started at 7:30 in the lower parking lot at Virgin Valley.

The students all got their friends and came and enjoyed the film where they watched Teen Beach Movie.

Tuesday’s dress up day was called “summer fling”. Students were encouraged to dress like the type of person that they like best. Participation was high on this day making it a lot of fun for the students. On Tuesday evening, there was a closing social at the Mesquite Recreation center outdoor pool. There was pizza, snow cones, and drinks that all could enjoy as well as swimming and having fun with friends.

Wednesday was Pajama day at the school. In the evening there were baseball and softball games that a lot of people came to watch. Food was made for the students and there was a small tailgate activity at the games.

Thursday’s dress up day was “Beach Bod.’ Kids could wear workout clothes and whatever was appropriate to show they were getting ready for summertime at the beach. There was also a baseball game on Thursday that was against Moapa. The Dawgs played at 3:30 and beat the Pirates 1-0 which put them in first for playoffs.

Everyone who was participating in Friday’s activity was excited for this day. Friday’s dress up day was called “dream team”. Friday was also the great race so all the teams that were participating in it dressed up the same. The great race started after school and had a bunch of different obstacle courses that a member of each team had to get through.

All of the activities of the week led up to the Prom. The dance was held at the Casablanca Resort. Many of the students started out their day with a group date while others just went straight to the dance with just their friends. All the students are grateful for all those who help put on this fun week at VVHS.
