Updates From NDOT

Updates from NDOT:
We continue to appreciate your input and patience on the I-15 project south of Mesquite. The Nevada Department of Transportation and its contractor are making some changes that we believe will be beneficial.
-Progress Report
This project is more than 34% through its allotted working days.
After heavier-than-expected delays, NDOT mandated all milling and paving to be done at night between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m., freeing up all travel lanes during daytime hours, with the exception of relatively short stretches of hard barrier rail needed to block trenching operations. We believe the switch to night work will alleviate some of the backups that emerged following the start of paving operations.
Additionally, paving work will be paused for at least eight weeks beginning the week of June 13. The installation of ITS fiberoptic lines will continue during that time.
Crews will not perform work during the Memorial Day weekend. Work suspended Friday, May 27 and will resume the evening of Tuesday, May 31. We understand the importance of holiday travel for locals, tourists, and commercial drivers. Despite the pause, we expect additional traffic on I-15 for Memorial Day, especially northbound on Sunday evening and Monday between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
