St. John’s To Host “An Evening of Music”

A new concert series is beginning this week at St. John’s Catholic Church at 2955 N. St. Joseph Street in Logandale. An Evening of Music will bring together a variety of classical and pop music performed by local musicians in a performance to be held on Thursday, June 2 beginning at 6 pm.

The program is being organized by retired MVHS music teacher Kim Delgadillo. “There is such a richness of musical talent in our little community,” Delgadillo said. “I just felt like we should showcase that a little bit so that people could enjoy it.”

The evening will begin with performances of local piano and violin students.
An ensemble of local musicians will then perform the Horn Quintet in E-flat by Mozart. Delgadillo will be playing the french horn in that piece with Walter White, Dinah Nagel, Brent Petit and Lila Sellers playing strings.
Local violinist Walter White will be performing the virtuosic Czardas.

Bria Scatterday, a college music major who has returned home for the summer, will be performing a solo entitled “Nocturne.”

The cello duo of Brent Petit and Lila Sellers of Mesquite will then perform a selection of pieces to end the performance.

Admission to the concert is free to the public.
