Event Planned To Celebrate The 4th Adult-Style

It is not too late to sign-up for an adult-style Fourth of July Celebration. Local event organizer Thomas Stark has coordinated a day of patriotic fun centering around golf, dinner, dancing fireworks!

Stark has organized a Summertime Blues Star Spangled Shamble Golf Tournament. The tournament will be played on the holiday at the Oasis Palmer Course. It will be a 7:30 am shotgun start, with a twist. Players may only use four golf clubs.

There will be prizes for low gross team, low net team, and closest to pin on all par 3 holes. The golf entry deadline is June 27.

There will also be a prize awarded for the most “patriotic attire” for male and female.
But there is much more to this Independence Day celebration than the golf tournament.
“If you are not a golfer there is still plenty to do,” said Stark.

Beginning at 6:30 pm, the Oasis Grill room will host a BBQ Buffet Dinner Feast prepared by Oasis Grill owner Mathew John. Live music by the Mesquite Café Blues Band, featuring the energetic singer Linda Villanueva and her singer/ guitarist spouse Paul, along with Jonny Heart playing a mean harmonica.

And what about the fireworks? Well, one of the best places in Mesquite to watch the Eureka Resort’s Rockets Over Red Mesa fireworks display is from the patio at the Oasis Grill Room.

Stark is a retired professional Golf Events and Tournament organizer. He emphasized that this is not a fundraiser for any group or even for himself. Rather he calls it a “Fun-Raiser.”
The event is being put on strictly at cost, Stark said. Why? “Because I love being retired in Mesquite, and this is something I know how to do,” said Stark.

No tickets will be sold at the door. The Golf Dinner and fun package is $90 per person. For Oasis Club members the cost for the golf tournament and dinner package is $40. For attendees who don’t wish to play in the tournament but just want to enjoy the dinner and evening fun, pre-purchased tickets to the dinner party are $30.00.
