The Progress
The Virgin Valley Theater Group Summer Children’s Program will present, a lively production of “Beauty and the Beast” on Friday, June 17 at 7 PM and again on Saturday, June 18 at 2 PM. Both shows will play in the Mesquite Community Theatre at 150 N Yucca Street.
The play will feature local teens in grades sixth through twelve. Wendy Wolfe-Killinger is the Director, Joy Craig is the Choreographer. Rachel Washington costume designer, and Kristy Lindberg is stage manager.
The Beauty (Belle) is played by Leah Wilson and the Beast is played by Konner Peterson. Both Wilson and Peterson have performed in the Summer Theater before.
There are approximately thirty kids participating in the cast. This year the kids even helped to build the set.
Tickets will be $10 for adults and $5 for kids. They can be purchased online at www.mctnv.com or at the box office, June 16-17 from 2:30-3:30 pm or one hour before each showtime.
On the following week, June 24-25, local elementary school-age children will present the play “101 Dalmatians” at the theater. Keep an eye on The Progress for more details.
