Mesquite To Hold National School Supply Drive Month

Mesquite City Councilwoman Sandra Ramaker, along with The Department of Athletics and Leisure Services is hosting a few site locations to help the youth and teachers of the valley with the National School Supply Drive for July.

Donations bins will be located in three locations in Mesquite. These are the Mesquite Rec Center at 100 W. Old Mill Road open M-F 5 am to 8 pm; Mesquite City Hall at 10 E. After a year like no other, teachers and students nationwide are gearing up for a busier school year than ever.
“We are extremely excited for the school year,” Ramaker said. “We need to help supply teachers with all they need to plan for a successful academic year!”

For those individuals passionate about supporting teachers and students in our local schools across our valley, the drive will be giving all of the donated supplies to Virgin Valley teachers to help supply their classrooms and the children.

“Coming off of a school year that presented an array of challenges, this is an opportunity for individuals and the wonderful community we live in to come together to support the cause of ensuring all teachers and students have the supplies they need to learn,” Ramaker added.

“We’re honored to partner with National School Supply Month on this important initiative,” said Mesquite Athletics & Leisure Services Director Nicholas Montoya. “As students return to the classroom for the upcoming year, it’s imperative that teachers and students have the supplies they need to learn and be successful.”
