It was a rockin’ & rollin’ good time at the Rotary Clubs annual debunking party, held at Wolf Creek Clubhouse on Wednesday evening, June 29.

The event was the changing of the guard, celebrating the outgoing officers of the two clubs and welcoming in the new. It was all done with a Rock & Roll theme. Most members came colorfully dressed from the sixties and seventies.

The outgoing Sunrise Club President Deb Parsley recognized the board members with words of appreciation and a little gift. She then handed the gavel over to the new incoming Sunrise Club President Richard Gutierrez.
“I am looking forward to serving the needs of the community through Rotary,” Gutierrez said. “We have fun events and a lot of good energy.”

Gutierrez welcomed his new board. The club secretary will be Chantile Mcallister; Treasurer, Darlene Montague; and Sargent at Arms Gene Beitler.

Outgoing president Deb Parsley, is stepping into a new position of Assistant District Governor. She will be working with the two Mesquite Clubs as well as the Moapa Valley Rotary Club.

The outgoing noon Club President, Linda Gault recognized her board members also with words of appreciation and a gift.
“We had a full year of projects and I am proud of our accomplishments,” said Gault. “Looking forward to next year and our new president.”

Gault welcomed the new incoming President Roy Stephenson.
“We have many projects on the table for this year,” said Stephenson. “That includes the Mesquite pollinator garden, and the new Beaver Dam Elementary school Reading Corner to name a few.
Stephenson said that he had only been a Rotarian for three years, “Hopefully my background will help me fulfill this position,” he said.

Stephenson then welcomed his new board: Secretary, Kathy Hoselton, and Treasurer Kevin Boyer, both of whom served in the same positions last year. Norman Utley will be Sargent–at-arms again this year.
Also being recognized at the dinner was Jake Noll, past president of the noon Rotary club. He has been appointed to the Executive District Governor of Southern Nevada position, which was unexpectedly vacated with the departure of Keith Buchhalter.

“This position is an honor and I will do my best to help the Rotary Clubs of Southern Nevada!” Noll said.
YellowPix was there to add even more fun with their dramatic picture memories.

The Rotary Club had lots of hippies and rock stars on hand at their dinner party that night.
