VR Watershed Camp To Be Held

The Virgin River Coalition and Virgin Valley Heritage Museum are holding a “Virgin River Watershed Camp” on Thursday, July 21 from 9 am – 2 pm at the Jimmy Hughes Campus at 150 N. Yucca St. Lunch will be provided.

Participants will learn about the history of the early inhabitants and settlers of the Virgin River Valley. They will also learn how to make adobe bricks, petroglyphs, and learn about river plants, animals and fish. The camp will be filled with “hands-on” science activities.
Participants should wear comfortable clothes that can get wet. The camp will be using the splash pad area for some activities.

The camp is open to youth ages 8-13 and will be limited to 20 participants. There is a registration fee of $10.00 per individual or a family fee of $40.00.

Registration for the camp closes on Friday, July 15. Registration may be done online at mesquitenv.activityreg.com. Paper registration applications can also be picked up at the Mesquite City Recreation Center or at the Virgin Valley Heritage Museum.
