Salvation Army seeks school supply donations

The Salvation Army of Mesquite is collecting donations of school supplies to put into backpacks for its annual Back Pack Drive. The school supply drive will continue until August 29. Donations can be brought to the Salvation Army of Mesquite office at 742 W. Pioneer Blvd in the Redd Hills Commercial Park.

School supplies needed most at this time are crayons, notepaper, pens, pencils, rulers, notebooks, markers and more.

The backpacks are given to area children whose families may be short on funds to equip their kids for school.

The sign-up period for families to receive backpacks ended last week. However, anyone missing the sign-up date should call the Salvation Army office for further assistance. Contact Salvation Army Assistant Director Jessica Powell at 702-346-5116.
