Hole Foods Bakery in Mesquite celebrated its three year anniversary on Friday, July 22. This small, independently-owned bakery sells a variety of pastries including donuts, turnovers, croissants, sweet rolls, cookies, and more.

On Friday, large lawn ornaments could be seen standing in the grass outside of the building. Cutouts of stars, cake, balloons, and candy stood to draw people in as they drove. A large sign proclaimed “Happy Birthday #3!” Inside, the bakery was also decorated with festive balloons and banners.
“It has been awesome!” Hole Foods owner Paige Anderson said of the day. “We have had a really good day and we’re excited that we’ve made it three years.”

To celebrate the big event, ice cream cones were sold for only $1. Customers could choose a scoop of any of the eight available flavors, including chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, pistachio almond, cotton candy, birthday cake, cookies and cream, and bunny tracks.

“Ice cream is new in the shop,” Anderson explained. “So we thought that would be a fun treat and a good way to advertise that we have ice cream now.”

The celebration took place during business hours from 6 a.m. until 3 p.m. Around 100 people came to celebrate and enjoy a birthday ice cream cone.

The menu at Hole Foods Bakery rotates regularly. “We want to keep it new so we like to try new cookies, new recipes, new things on the donuts… just to make it fun and interesting,” Anderson said.

The bakery has a variety of items available for breakfast and lunch including sandwiches on fresh bread, salads, soups, and more.

Besides ice cream, one of the newer treats is a strawberries and cream donut or croissant.
“It’s like a cream cheese and whipped cream mixture and then we put fresh strawberries on them,” Anderson described. “And you can have it on a donut or on a croissant. It’s yummy.”

For a delicious treat, Hole Foods Bakery can be found at 12 East Mesquite Boulevard #114 in Mesquite.
“We really appreciate our customers and our local community,” Anderson said. “They’re definitely what keeps us going and we appreciate them so much!”
