LETTER: Very Worthy!

After reading the letter titled “Not Worthy!” from Sheldon Worley in the July 27 edition of The Progress, I feel compelled to respond.

Mr. Worley states he deeply appreciates the January 6th hearings in Congress.

First, I would like to point out that these are not legal hearings as there is no cross-examination of witnesses and hearsay testimony is being allowed.

Example: the testimony of former White House staffer in President Trump’s administration, Cassidy Hutchinson, describing what she had been told by another staffer how President Trump tried to gain control of the vehicle he was riding in, by jumping over the seat reaching for the steering wheel and attempting to choke the driver. The Secret Service agents who were in the vehicle released statements that the incident never occurred and would be willing to testify under oath to that fact. They have not been asked to testify.

The two GOP ‘Rinos”, Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney are clearly not looking for the truth. Kinzinger and Cheney were handpicked by Speaker Pelosi for their prejudicial dislike of Trump.

Where are the questions about the Capitol Police who opened gates and doors to the Capitol to the crowds on January 6?

Where are the 14,000 hours of film footage taken on that day? We are just being shown edited portions.

Why did the three Capitol Police Officers who were at the door, turn and walk away moments before veteran, unarmed, Ashli Babbit was shot and killed?

Now, even Congresswoman Ocasio Cortez is questioning why did the Capitol Police show the crowds the way into the Capitol?

Why did Speaker Pelosi refuse President Trump’s offer to have 20,000 National Guard troops at the Capitol on January 6? Why didn’t the Mayor of Washington, D.C. ask for the National Guard?

There are thousands of questions we will never get answers to as Pelosi’s “hearings” are a political ‘witch hunt’ against Trump and his supporters.

These are the same people conducting these January 6 “hearings” that falsely accused Trump of “Russian Collusion”, accused him of calling veterans “suckers and losers” all of which the “fake news” peddled as true but have been proven to be lies. Unlike the Hunter Biden laptop which has been proven to be real news.

President Trump asked the crowds on January 6 at his speech to walk patriotically and peacefully to the Capitol and then go home.

I do not condone the actions of those who went into the Capitol on January 6 and destroyed any property. But what about having hearings on the riots in the summer of 2020 destroying cities, businesses and killing people?

When we are suffering from inflation, high gas prices and an invasion at our Southern border, lawlessness across our country, it disgusts me that our tax dollars are paying for Pelosi’s theatrics being produced by a former ABC producer and will conveniently resume in the Fall before the mid term elections.

Mr. Worley, who would you want to be the Republican Presidential nominee in 2024?
