Mesquite Fire & Rescue was dispatched to a business fire on Mesquite Boulevard shortly before 2:30 am on Tuesday morning, Aug. 16.
Upon arrival, crews could see flames coming from the roof and eves of the structure with heavy smoke.
It was reported by the facility manager that the business had been secured just the day before and that no entry had been made after that time.
Firefighting crews gained access to the building through large rollup garage doors. But they immediately noticed that the structural integrity had been compromised. It was determined that a defensive attack was the safest option for the responding personnel.
Multiple hoselines were laid to fight the fire and protect the surrounding areas.
The fire burned for a few hours with a partial collapse before firefighters were able to gain control of the blaze.
No other structures became involved with this fire. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
