A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held last week to celebrate the official opening of the new Tagg-N-Go Car Wash location in Mesquite. A crowd of about 30 people attended the event on Wednesday morning, Aug. 31, to watch St. George entrepreneurs Quinn Allgood and Conner Atkins cut the ribbon on the company’s newest location at 160 Falcon Ridge Pkwy.

The St. George-based company started in 2016 with one location on Sunset Blvd. in St. George. Today the fast-growing enterprise has multiple location ranging from Mesquite, Nevada to Lehi, Utah.

Helping to organize last week’s event was Mesquite Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Carol Kolson. And in attendance were Chamber board members, city officials and more. Attendees enjoyed treats from Hole Foods Bakery in Mesquite at the event.

In an earlier interview with the Progress, Tagg-N-Go marketing director Amanda Williams was enthusiastic about the positive reception experienced by the company in locating to the Mesquite community.
“It has been an absolute pleasure to just interact with everyone here in Mesquite,” Williams said. “Everyone is so nice and so appreciative. I’ve only heard just love from the local folks whether its online or in person. It is just nice to hear those things about what we are able to provide the community here.”

The Mesquite location actually had its soft opening on Aug. 17. For two weeks after that, the location offered free car washes to anyone who dropped by. Customers flocked to the famously squeaky-clean facility by the hundreds each day.

“We typically offer the free introductory washes for six or seven days only when we open a new location,” Williams said. “But we have received so much love here, and so many people coming in, we decided to extend it up to our ribbon cutting event.”

The Tagg-N-Go Express Car Wash experience is unique. The customer is greeted at the gate by a friendly attendant to select the type of wash for his/her car. A small crew does a pre-wash on the car before it enters the tunnel-style car wash facility.

In the tunnel, the car is treated with the highest quality premium soaps, purified spot free water, and other eco-friendly cleaning formulas as it passes through.

Williams said that the company has a dedicated maintenance team who performs a regular schedule of maintenance on all of the company’s car wash tunnels. This team is also at the ready to solve problems immediately as they arise at any given location. This keeps the tunnels in tip-top shape every day for every customer, she said.

“It is really nice to have someone on staff that is just obsessed about the quality of our wash,” Williams said. “Not every car wash company offers that on-staff team.”

After passing through the tunnel for the exterior clean, customers can pull their car over to a large bank of vacuum cleaners to take care of the inside of the car themselves. Two different vacuum hoses are available at each station: one with a standard flat attachment, and another especially designed to reach tight, hard-to-reach places in the car’s interior. Microfiber towels are also available for use by customers.

The Mesquite location employs as many as 20 people. After hiring the local crew, the company transported them to St. George for several days for intensive training on the Tagg-N-Go system.
“We have a really good crew here in Mesquite,” Williams said. “They are absolutely one of the most driven crews that I have seen.”

The company offers four tiers of car wash service from a $10 basic single wash up to a $22 platinum wash for one time through.

But customers can also sign up for a monthly subscription service allowing them to have unlimited car washes during their subscription. These are priced from $19.99 per month at the Basic Level, up to $34.99 per month for the Platinum Level.

“Once you sign up for a monthly subscription, it is similar to a Netflix subscription, it just comes out automatically every month,” Williams said. “And then you can come by as often as you like to clean your car.”
Family plans are also available.
