The Mesquite Police Department will be holding the 2022 Mesquite Night Out on Wednesday, September 21 on the west field of the Mesquite Rec Center.
The Mesquite Police Department organizes and runs this event each year. In keeping with tradition, the event will begin with a parade of emergency vehicles leaving the Oasis parking lot at 5:15 p.m., traveling eastbound on Mesquite Blvd, and arriving at the Rec Center by 5:30 p.m. Kids of all ages can enjoy the arrival of the emergency vehicles with the flashing lights, blaring sirens, and the landing of the Mercy Air helicopter in the field. This event, which is free for everyone and open to the public, will last until 8 p.m.
“Mesquite Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors, law enforcement, and other emergency services while bringing back a true sense of community to our wonderful city,” said MPD spokesman Wyatt Oliver. “Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances to discuss community outreach programs, crime prevention efforts, and other public safety concerns.”
Many non-profit agencies based in northeast Clark County take part in the event and will be available to answer questions on services offered.
Throughout the evening there will be games for the kids. The police and fire departments will offer demonstrations. And the ever-popular pedal cars will be available for “test drives.”
As they have done for several years, the Elks Lodge will provide free hot dogs (while supplies last) for all in attendance.
