It was an evening of “retail therapy” on Thursday night, Sept. 22 at the charming Juniper Outpost boutique. But it was also an exclusive “members only” kind of event.

Juniper Outpost was the first Mesquite Chamber of Commerce member to participate in this new concept from Chamber President/CEO Carol Kolson.

Juniper Outpost hosted the event by opening its door to chamber members only on Thursday evening. As part of the experience, the store provided food and entertainment for the attendees. They were also selling raffle tickets for an Italian leather handbag valued at over $300. That special prize was donated by Juniper Outpost. All raffle proceeds were to benefit “SafeNest.” While items sold from store inventory that evening remained with Juniper.

“It was an honor for Juniper Outpost to participate in the chamber fundraiser,” said Juniper Outpost owner Charlotte Sirianni. “It is one of our missions to connect people: artists to buyers, neighbor to neighbor, and city leaders to the public. This event gave us the opportunity to accomplish all these things while supporting an organization we believe in.”

Three of the artists that have supplied the store with their pieces were there to meet and greet the public.
Three volunteer musicians from the Southern Nevada Symphony performed music for the evening. These included Deborah Stephen, on the oboe; Jennifer Vogel, flute; and Brent Pettit, cello.
Food and drink were served outside under a cover in the parking lot. Drawings were being held intermittently for items donated by the artists.

WAFD Bank donated $500 to SafeNet. This was combined with the raffle money for Safe Nest receive a total of $1024 for the evening.
“We wanted to do something spectacular to help local charities and our members,” Kolsen said. “Juniper Outpost stepped-up and now we have created a win-win situation for all.”
