I assume that most of the rest of the state of Nevada is, like me, tired of being bombarded by TV and mail political ads.
It’s strange to me that the majority of the ads imply that there is just one issue: That overturning Roe vs Wade has made it illegal to get an abortion in Nevada. This is a straight-out lie. Overturning Roe vs Wade simply gave the decision regarding abortion to the states. In Nevada the law has been for many years that you can get an abortion for up to 24 weeks. I assume half of the Nevadans cannot get pregnant (although they now say men can get pregnant), and a good portion of the rest of the state are using regular methods to avoid getting pregnant, that abortion, as noted previously, is a non-issue. Therefore, it is not the number one issue on the minds of most Nevadans.
Having the highest inflation in over 40 years, causing gas prices to more than double in the last two years, having prices at the grocery store go up every week we shop, and seeing crime get worse in most of the major cities in the country, and having no control over our borders are true issues that everyone should be concerned about.
Why aren’t the politicians running ads to explain how they are going to solve these issues?
Maybe we should wonder why these were not issues at all just 2 short years ago.
