TAB Applications Sought

Clark County is currently accepting applications from residents of Moapa Town and Bunkerville who are interested in serving on the local town advisory boards for the next two years.

Applicants must be eligible to vote, live within the area encompassed by the applicable Town Advisory Board (TAB), and attend annual training.

Bunkerville and Moapa townships did not have enough people file for the TAB seats earlier this year to allow for an election. Thus instead of having the matter decided on the ballot, the County Commission will appoint the TAB members for the next term.

The Moapa Valley township had enough candidates file for the positions this year to warrant an election. So residents of the Logandale and Overton area will be choosing their representatives in the upcoming election in November.

Applications for the appointments are due by 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 15, and are available through the County website at www.ClarkCountyNV.gov and through the Administrative Services Department, which can be reached at (702) 455-3530 or by email at AdministrativeServices@ClarkCountyNV.gov. TAB secretaries will also have applications available.

The County Commission will appoint the members of these two volunteer boards to two-year terms. The next terms will begin Jan. 2, 2023. All appointees must attend a training program on Jan. 7.

The TABs serve an important advisory and liaison function relaying concerns and other important information between unincorporated towns and the County government. The boards and councils hold public meetings at least once a month to discuss and make recommendations on long-term planning, zoning changes, public works projects, County programs and ordinances that may affect their town.
