The Progress
Fringe and Fusions Beauty Salons in Mesquite are holding a fundraiser for local resident and realtor Nicky Woodruff. Now through the month of October, both salons will be offering a pink extension or pink hair tinsel for a $5.00 donation and a show of support. Walk-ins are welcome. Both salons are also offering semi-permanent support option that will vary on donation.
Fringe Salon co-owner Karen Off, emotionally explained to the Progress that their wonderful friend Nicky survived breast cancer in 2019. But she has now been diagnosed with Metastatic Breast cancer and liver cancer. She has two tumors on her liver. One is too large to remove.
Woodruff is currently going through nine weeks of chemotherapy, then more tests, then a new course of action will be determined.
Woodruff is married and has two daughters age 9 and 15. She is 38-years old.
Co-owner Danielle Serna, said, “Nicky is my friend, we go to church together and play bunco together. She is the most kind-hearted person. Her laugh is contagious and even through all of these ordeals she is in the best of spirits and always stays positive. I hope everyone will show support for her.”
