Shop Reopens After Long Closure

The unique collectibles, gift and vintage collections retail store, Auntie Jayne’s in Mesquite, re-opened on Thursday morning after being closed since 2020.

The store is now open again at 742 West Pioneer Boulevard, Suite F. from 10 AM-4 PM Thursday-Saturday.

The store’s expanded showroom allows for even more unusual and memory-making finds for shoppers. All items are handsomely displayed.

Jayne Kendrick, store owner, is happy to be open again. Kendrick came to Mesquite in 2014 from Salt Lake City, bringing her bookkeeping and tax preparation business with her. She wanted to be near her mother. When her mother passed away, Kendrick inherited so many lovely vintage items, she decided to showcase them for others that would appreciate them. This resulted in one side of her building space being a bookkeeping office and the other, a distinctive gift shop. She keeps finding more and more unique items to place in her shop.
“I have items from all over the world,” Kendrick said. I have things from Italy, Hong Kong, New Guinea and more. Many items can be recycled into a new use.”

Many items in the shop have a written history that comes with them. Kendrick enjoys researching the history of her vintage collections.
“My husband’s work took him all over the world and he added many special items to my collections,” said Kendrick.

Linda Foster and Nancy Gentry were two of the earliest shoppers on opening day.
Foster said, “We support all our local businesses and always attend their openings and celebrations.”

Auntie Jayne’s is a little hard to find, located across the parking lot from Rooster Cottage Consignment’s second showroom.
