Ghost Tours Of Downtown Overton This Weekend

By CORINNE MESSER

The Progress

It’s time to reserve your tickets for the 3rd annual Haunted Ghost Walk in downtown Overton. This spooky spectacular is presented by Moapa Valley Community Theatre and will take place from 6-9:30pm on October 28-29.

The haunted walking event was actually created during the pandemic when indoor public gatherings were taboo.

“During the pandemic our events committee were wanting to do something,” said Ghost Walk Committee member Emma Brown. “One of our members suggested to do a ghost tour. It was perfect because townspeople could be involved in small groups and social distance. It turned out to be a big success.”

This year the haunted tour will focus on the ghosts of Lake Mead. A personal ghost host will lead group walking tours around some of Overton’s oldest and most storied buildings. There will be several stops where the ghosts will report and entertain the group with haunting stories.

The family friendly tours will be nightly from 6-7:30pm. They will not have any “jump scares,” but just good fun with friendly phantoms. The scarier tours including “jump scares” and some different creepier stories will occur nightly from 8-9:30 pm.

Tours will begin at the Pro Plaza parking lot (196 S. MV BLVD). The .7 mile loop walking adventure will take roughly 40-50 minutes and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Strollers and flashlights are permitted for little ones.

Included in the ticket price will be a photo op. The professional photos will be included in the ticket price and emailed to the participant. There will also be glitter tattoos, concessions and a raffle for a 55-inch smart TV kindly donated by Infowest.

Tickets are $10/person or $35/family (4-8 participants).

Pre-register and pay admission at notrevo.org for a definite time slot, or take your chances and pay at check-in.
