Donation drive turns “Burdens to Blessings”

As the autumn weather has turned cooler, many people in the Virgin Valley find themselves “burdened” with gently used clothing that they no longer need or that no longer fits. It is time for fall cleaning!

The non-denominational JustServe.org service organization in Mesquite has a solution to this. The “Burdens to Blessings” donation drive offers a chance to unburden closets and homes. Area residents are invited to unburden their rooms by donating clean, gently-used household and clothing items. That way, these “burdens” can becomes blessings to someone else.

The donation portion of the drive is taking place on Saturday, Nov. 12 between 7-8 am at 100 N. Arrowhead Lane in Mesquite. There will be tables set up where donors can place their donations.
Then, beginning at 8 am and continuing to noon, community members may come and search for free “blessings” on the tables that they feel they can use.

Everyone in the community is welcome to come and take whatever is needed, completely free of cost. Attendees do not need to donate anything to participate. Any items that remain at noon will be donated to SafeNest Mesquite.
