The United Seniors held a big “Let’s Make A Deal” fundraiser at the Overton Senior Center on Saturday evening, Oct. 22.
There were 49 contestants who dressed in costumes and signed up to participate in the fun styled after the old game show by the same name. Twenty-one of those contestants walked away with cash and prizes that night.
Local realtor Kasen Kolhoss stepped in to host the show. And the lovely “Medicare” Mary Bundy was his assistant. The show got sound system help from Dorian Bundy and stage help from Ruthann Gilbert, Carol Vick and Mike Marino.
The evening was full of fun and prizes. There were several t-shirts, Kasen bucks and other giveaways that kept the crowd involved.
Constestant Austin Stewart ended up trading his prize, valued at $220, for a chance at the Big Deal of the day: $500 in cash.
Unfortunately, Stewart didn’t get the Big Deal of the Day but he did walk away with a 20 quart Nice cooler donated by Moapa Valley Family Resource Center; two Shakespeare fishing poles and tackle box donated by Ace Hardware; a Coleman Thermos Jub, cups, drink flavoring and $10 cash award donated by Cal’s Repair Center; and two tote bags donated by X-Treme Stitch. Total value of his going-away prize was $255!
