The Progress
The Mesquite Christmas Parade of Lights 2022 Food Drive for the Salvation Amy has begun.
Deborah Benham, Coordinator of the Food Drive and the Parade has gotten a headstart on the food drive from personal donors and local businesses. To date, she has collected just under 4,000 pounds of non-perishable foods, health and cleaning supplies.
Food drop-off locations include Mesquite City Hall, Mesquite Recreation Center, Washington Federal Bank on Mesquite Boulevard. Virgin Valley Community Theater (during performances only) and Sun City -Pioneer Center.
Also, during the Parade of Lights on December 8 along Mesquite Boulevard, volunteers with shopping carts will be parading alongside the curbs collecting items for the food ddrive.
Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will also be in front of City Hall for photo ops with the kiddos.
“This Food Drive and Parade is our labor of love and our way to give back,” Benham said, referring to both herself and her husband Mike. “All items go to the local Salvation Army and help our community.”
