County Clerk Office To Remain In Mesquite

The Clark County Clerk’s branch office in Mesquite City Hall will continue offering services for another three years.

The County Commission and City of Mesquite recently approved a request by County Clerk Lynn Goya to keep the office open through Nov. of 2025, with further one-year extensions permitted beyond that by the agreement of both entities in the future. The branch office opened in January 2022 as a temporary facility to gauge demand for the Clerk’s services in Mesquite.

The Mesquite office issues marriage licenses and vow renewal certificates. It also files Fictitious Firm Name forms and Notary bonds. The office is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Nevada statute allows the Clerk to operate up to five branch offices within the county.

The main Marriage License Bureau is on the first floor of the Regional Justice Center and is open from 8 a.m. to midnight 365 days per year.

Other branch offices include Henderson City Hall open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Laughlin County Government Center open Thursdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the temporary Marriage License Bureau at the airport around Valentine’s Day.

“I am very pleased we were able to hammer out an agreement with the City of Mesquite to continue to offer Mesquite residents and businesses the ability for couples to get their marriage license locally,” said Goya. “As always, Councilwoman Sandra Ramaker was instrumental in getting this passed. Since January when we opened, we have issued 118 marriage licenses, 59 FFNs and 17 notary bond acceptances. We expect demand to grow as more people find out about the office and more couples stay in Mesquite to get married.”

“The County Clerk’s branch office in Mesquite offers important and convenient services to residents in Mesquite and nearby communities,” said Clark County Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick, whose commission district includes the area. “It was a welcomed addition when it opened, and we are glad we can continue to offer these services to the community for years to come.”
