Seven volunteer artists from Virgin Valley High School showed up on Saturday morning to paint the windows of Mesquite City Hall with Christmas Holiday adornments.

Garbed in holiday aprons to protect their clothing, the students all had smiles on their faces as they plied their talents. A table was set up to hold their paints and brushes. And another table offered the teens nourishment of hot chocolate and sweet rolls.

VVHS arts and photographer teacher Tyler Roylance said that Mesquite Executive Assistant Nancy Hewett had contacted him asking if his students would be interested in painting the City Hall windows for Christmas.
“I had the students each create a holiday design,” Roylance said. “Then I organized all their pieces together in a collage that they are painting on the windows.”

Roylance seemed to be having as much fun on the project as his students.
The student artists included Abigail Ramirez, Jaiden Pausen, Romalis Gaglian, Citlali Gutierrez, Olivia Bunker, Mahroah Noor and Brynton Stoker.

Hewett said th at she was excited to have the students painting the windows for the holidays. To reward them for their efforts, she treated them all with a pizza luncheon when they were finished.
