I am immensely grateful to my family, friends, and loyal supporters who so generously contributed their time and effort to my campaign during this year’s primary and general elections. I have been honored to serve the City of Mesquite and am grateful to Mayor Litman for his trust in appointing me in December 2020.
My thanks to city department managers and employees for their tireless efforts each day to do their best for our citizens and visitors. I also want to acknowledge the help of my family who often took a backseat to my responsibilities of being a council member.
I had hoped to prevail and continue serving you. I do not regret having invested time and energy these last two years to meet you, listen to your ideas and concerns, and understand your issues. I voted on issues and policies with research, objectivity, and consideration of how they could affect our future.
The challenges Mesquite faces are not insurmountable and the future holds great promise. Values such as fairness, tolerance, diversity, transparency, learning, and protection of our natural resources are requirements of a great city.
Best wishes,
Karen Dutkowski
Mesquite City Council Member
