OBITUARY: Lance Anderson

Lance Anderson

Lance Anderson

Lance Leon Anderson Spotted Eagle AKA “Stinger” left this earth on Dec 3, 2022, at the age of 46, after returning from a beautiful day in the mountains cutting Christmas trees with his family.  He suffered a sudden and fatal heart attack. Lance was born on December 6,1975 in Las Vegas NV, to Leroy Spotted Eagle and Lucy Ibanez.

Lance spent his early years at the Las Vegas Paiute Colony, then moved with his family to Moapa NV where he later graduated from Moapa Valley High School. It was where he met Jamie Robinson. They dated for six years then married on September 30, 2000 in Overton NV. They raised their family in Moapa. In Lance’s own words he was “the ultimate family man who enjoyed fishing, hiking, golfing but most of all his wife, Jamie Anderson, his high school sweetheart.”

Lance worked as a heavy equipment operator the last 24 yrs. He got accepted into the apprenticeship program with Operating Engineers Local 12 in his early 20’s. It was a 3 year program and he was proud of that accomplishment. He loved his job and did it well; he loved and respected the many people he worked with. Lance loved being outdoors, camping, fishing and going on ATV rides. In his down time you could find him playing with his kids, with off road racing playing in the background. His family meant everything to him and everything he did was for them. They enjoyed many BBQ’s , watching football and listening to music together. He truly loved all of them and they were his greatest source of happiness and joy.

Lance is survived by his wife, Jamie Anderson; his children: Sidnee (Mickey)Anderson, Jerzi Anderson, Tyelar Anderson, Stowick Anderson and Lennox Anderson; his grandson Kaias; his brother Chris Spotted Eagle; his in laws, Rick & Verna Robinson; his sister in law Miranda Robinson; his nephews, Tobyas and Keean; his niece Breanna, and his large extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and there is comfort in knowing they were waiting for him and he will join them in watching over his family until they are together again.

A viewing service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Moapa Chapel at 1:00-1:45pm, followed by funeral services at 2:00pm. Services will continue with dinner at 5:00 pm at the Moapa Tribal Building, followed by a Traditional Sing, and internment at Sunrise.

The family invites you to leave a message or memory in their guest book at www.moapavalleymortuary.com
