The 8th annual “Fill My Trunk” food drive is now underway. And Mesquite City Councilwoman Karen Fielding is, once again, hard at work to gather food donations from area residents.
The drive is Fielding’s annual effort to help fill the shelves of the food pantry at Salvation Army of Mesquite.
“I am collecting non-expired canned foods and nonperishable items until March 14,” Fielding said.
Between now and that time, Fielding is willing to gladly travel all over town to pick up food donations from local residences or businesses.
All potential donors have to do is to message or call Fielding at 702-378-9964 to arrange a convenient pick up. Then Fielding drops by and fills her trunk with donations; hence the name “Fill My Trunk.”
“I will then give you or your business a huge shout out for your donations,” Fielding said. “So let’s get everyone involved! Please help me “Fill My Trunk” and let’s show our support to the Salvation Army.”
