The article in last week’s edition entitled: “Council Faces Tempest Over Mesquite Sports Complex Issue” was well written and captured most of the meeting agenda item discussion. However a very important part of the meeting was missing.
The president of the Board of Directors of Sun City Mesquite, Mr. John Schippert – who first said that he was not representing Pulte or Del Webb – handed out a document that he said was signed by all Sun City residents before purchasing their homes and said that residents had no right to complain about anything. He then stated that there should be no restrictions placed on the event center.
Why is this so important?
Not all residents signed the document handed out by Mr. Schippert. The date on the document was 2020. Anyone purchasing before the event center land was transferred to the city did not sign the document.
Even if we had signed it, there is certainly grounds for action from people owning homes near the center that cannot enjoy living in them.
Mr. Schippert as president of the Board of Directors has a responsibility to act in the best interest of the residents of Sun City. It should not matter that he is also President of a Soccer League.

It seems someone who thinks he speaks true hasn’t changed the batteries in his abacus lately…….. would like to see the number , date of purchase and location of said residents……. We bought here in 2014 and our neighborhood was built out way before “2020”……. Best to make SURE your comments can be backed up by numbers and facts……. Hummmmm, a couple other question is/was that “FORM” supposedly signed done willfully and with full disclosure…..or something made up by builder…. second does said for conform to city, county, state real estate law….. also why are you even getting involved with this? No one I know has complained about kids playing soccer!!! 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤯🤯
