The Mesquite Police Department will bring their car races, a community favorite among the youngsters. The mechanical bull ride will be there too. Live bands will provide the music.

Thursday May 4 will be a special cinematic holiday at the Mesquite Recreation Center. It is Star Wars Day offering free admission for anyone wearing Star Wars garb. A historical walking tour will also take place on Thursday from 9am- 10am beginning at the Virgin Valley Museum at 35 W. Mesquite Blvd. The public is also invited to a Founders Day Forum presentation in the City Council chambers at City Hall on Thursday from 5:30-6:30 PM.

On Friday May 5, the festivities shift into overdrive. A carnival will be starting at noon that day at the Rec Center West Field at 100 W. Old MIll Road. Vendor booths will also be there as well live music performances throughout the evening.

The fun will be open until midnight on Friday and then will continue throughout the weekend at all day Saturday until midnight and Sunday until 3 PM.

On Saturday May 6, everyone is invited to the Mayors Annual Pancake Breakfast from 7 to 8:30 am at Heritage Park located at 100 N. Arrowhead Lane. Nevada Mesquite Mayor Al Litman, City Council Members and other dignitaries will be on hand to serve up the crowd for breakfast.

“The annual breakfast is always fun and it’s a good opportunity for the community to come together,” said Litman. “This year’s Mesquite Days is projected to be the best ever.”

The Wonderful Mesquite Days Parade will begin on Saturday at 10 am. It will commence from Arrowhead Lane, turning east down Mesquite Boulevard and proceed through downtown to Yucca St.
“We are extremely excited about these events that go on all week-end,” said Nick Montoya, Director of the Mesquite Department of Athletics and Leisure Services. “We are hoping to see everybody come and enjoy the festivities, the food, drinks and carnival atmosphere.”
