A stiff wind and the threat of rain didn’t discourage a crowd of people from turning out to a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Grease Monkey quick lube shop in Mesquite. The celebration, which was sponsored by the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce, was held out in front of the garage on Thursday, May 4.

There to cut the red ribbon was Deanne Brown and Angela Daniels, wives of co-owners Bill Brown and Tyson Daniels, who stood beside them. Also in the lineup was Mesquite Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Carol Kolson.

After the ribbon cutting, guests enjoyed a catered luncheon from the Cinnamon Cafe in Mesquite. The delicious fare included tasty hamburger sliders, buffalo chicken mini-sandwiches, fresh fruit and more from the restaurant’s menu.

The Mesquite Grease Monkey location actually began operations last November. But owner Bill Brown said that it has taken a few months to get the former A-1 Auto site presentable enough for a ribbon cutting celebration. The Mesquite Boulevard facility has undergone a major renovation including a mammoth cleanup, new parking lot surface, new landscaping, exterior paint job, new signage and all new equipment.

Brown expressed gratitude to the shop’s new customer base for hanging in with them throughout the changes.
“I have just been overwhelmed by the support from this business community,” Brown said. “We so appreciate people being patient as we grow. We have tried to improve every day and we have brought things a long way. Our goal is to continue to improve to provide the best service to our customers.”

Grease Monkey offers an array of maintenance services and light repairs. In addition to a full range of oil change products, the company provides transmission service, brakes, belt replacement, fuel filter replacement, differential service, diagnostic services, alignments, power steering, batteries, tire services, headlamp replacement and much more.

Grease Monkey is located at 411 W. Mesquite Blvd. It is open from 8 am to 5 pm Mondays – Saturdays. For more information call the shop at 702-346-1660.
