Community members and business owners gathered at 840 Pinnacle Court, Building 11, Unit #101 in Mesquite for a ceremonial ribbon cutting to the new office of the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce new home. Celebration was in the air as Chamber President/CEO Carol Kolson, flanked by Chamber Board members, cut a blue ribbon and welcomed the public into the new office suite.

“The Chamber has been looking to purchase their own office for quite some time,” Kolson said. “So we were very excited to find this space that provides more visibility for the Chamber. We have also placed directional signage in the median on Oasis Blvd that points to the location of the new office.”

Kolson said that the Chamber Board of Directors had laid much of the groundwork to help the Mesquite Chamber organization to be able to afford the new location of its own.

Kolson was extremely excited over the prospect of having a more permanent home and not moving the chamber office location every year or two. Having private office space for her and her assistant was another important feature of the new location.

The members gathered outside in the parking lot for the ceremony. Kolson was eager to show off the beautiful interior which was a result of hard work by the Chamber board and some of its members.

Kolson first gave recognition and plaques to all the deserving collaborators. One special gift was given to board member Bill Ennis, also the Director of the local Salvation Army, for his many Saturdays working on the refurbishment project.

Kolson then proudly led a tour through the office, highlighting out special features, again praising those who helped produce them.
“We shopped Mesquite and most everything here was done by people and businesses in Mesquite,” Kolson said of the renovations.

The interior was well-designed and very attractive, with muted colors and sporting the Chamber’s new logo.
“The interior of our office was designed by Whetzel and Co. Real Estate and Interior Design Studio to give us that polished and professional look we were striving for!” Kolson said. “We are looking forward to serving our members and visitors to Mesquite in this beautiful new location.”

Since the ribbon cutting was scheduled for 9 AM, breakfast burritos, fruit cups – as well as Bloody Marys or mimosas were being served and enjoyed by all.
