The Progress
Three students from Hughes Middle School in Mesquite each won a new bicycle from All in Cycles bike shop on Monday, May 22.
The winners of the bikes were announced on the last day of school. They included 6th grader Paula Lopez Plascencia, 7th grader Luis Quijada Lara, and 8th grader Hector Lopez, Jr.
To be entered into the contest to win the bikes, students could have no tardies, no absences, and no disciplinary referrals to the dean during the last month of school.
Student’s names who fit these criteria were then put in a drawing for the bikes.
The new bikes were 9-speed, mountain bikes with disk brakes. They were donated by Mike Gomes at the All In Cycles bike shop at 1085 W. Pioneer Blvd Suite 170 in Mesquite.
The school and the students would like to thank Gomes and the bike shop for this great incentive to finish the school year with a good attitude of continuing to work.
