OBITUARY: Carl Richard Markle

Carl Richard Markle

Carl Richard Markle

Carl Richard Markle, 82, passed away October 23, 2023 in his home in Logandale, NV. He was born November 16, 1940 in Los Angeles, CA to James Claris Markle and Susan Alric. Carl grew up learning how to fish on Manhattan Beach Pier, always accompanied by his loyal dog, Lady.

Carl left high school early and joined the United States Marine Corps in 1959 and served honorably for four years. After the Marine Corps, he met his lovely wife, Velma Ann Morrow, a teller at Nevada State Bank as he worked as a courier. They were married in Las Vegas, NV on November 3, 1963, and were later sealed in the St. George, UT Temple on July 1, 1978.

Carl was a lifelong fisherman, and loved vacationing with his family, especially to San Diego, where the weather was ideal and the pier fishing was desired. Back home in Las Vegas, he would love going to Sam’s Town with his family and going bowling with his wife Ann.

He loved going to the theaters and watching movies. He was always with his family, and really enjoyed playing pranks on his grandkids, which included waking them from a sleep with pieces of tissue. Those who know, know. He was a supportive father to his children and a warmhearted grandfather to his grandchildren. Most of all, Carl always wanted to be with Ann and spend time with her.

Carl is survived by his children: Peter (Angie) Markle, Shawnee (Kyle) Cardinal, and Joshua (Jessica) Markle; twelve grandchildren: Kevin, Klint, Austin, Karsen, Shayna, Kelci, Lexi, Perry, Alexis, Kambree, Angelina, and Tanner; three great-grandchildren: Shiloh, Klay, and Adalynn; his sisters: Darlene Shepherd and Allene Parrino; and many loved ones and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ann Markle; and his son, Jason Markle.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, 9-10:30 a.m., at the Moapa Valley Mortuary, followed by a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. at the Logandale Cemetery.

The family invites you to leave a message or memory in their guest book at www.moapavalleymortuary.com.
