MERRY CHRISTMAS! 2023 Moapa Valley Tour of Lights

On River View Way at the east end of Lake Valley Estates, this stand-out display is decked from top to bottom with thousands of lights.

This edition marks the 20th year of The Progress’ annual Moapa Valley Tour of Lights. Looking back over two decades, we were amazed how much has changed in the community during that time.

Once again, we have enjoyed a leisurely evening or two driging through Moapa Valley seeking notable home Christmas light displays to highlight here in our pages. One thing was clear, the spirit of Christmas cheer continues to burn bright out there in the neighborhoods of our little town.

On River Way at the east end of Lake Valley Estates, this stand-out display is decked from top to bottom with thousands of lights.

As we do every year, we point out that this annual feature in not meant to be a contest with champions and award winners; even though some folks always seem to see it that way. Rather it is to encourage our readers to spend a little family time, get out of the house and drive through the community to enjoy what t heir fellow residents have done to decorate for the holiday.

Ongoing construction at Whipple Ave and Lyman Street in Logandale hasn’t dampened the holiday spirits at this home which sports a dazzling display despite the open trenches and heavy equipment.

trodden, while not neglecting homes along the main highway and well-travelled streets. In any case, the choices depicted here will get you into the neighborthoods where you are likely to see a lot more displays that we may not have room to publish. So take your time and explore. It should be a restful experience full of childlike wonder.

Candy canes, christmas trees, critters and a countdown clock are all included in this warm display on Bonelli Ave. in Overton. This street is another must-see with a whole block full of beautifully lighted homes.
An explosion of holiday lights going up more than 50 feet high meets the night-time viewer at this fabulous display on Terry Street in Logandale.
A colorful display of lights meets the eye as one rounds the corner of Lillian Condie Road from Ryan Ave in Overton.
An icy winter scene and warm wishes mark this bright display on Moapa Valley Blvd just south of Scott Ave. in Overton.
The Valley Heights neighborhood is a must-stop on the MV Tour of Lights with many residents setting up lavish displays. This one at Valley Home Court was one of many favorites.
A bit off the beaten trail, this simple down-home display on Doty St. in Logandale is fun to look at.
This amazingly detailed display on Grand Slam St. in Logandale has an elegant snowman placed high above to look over the whole beautiful scene.
The warm glow of this Nativity Scene on Janet Circle in Logandale reminds viewers of the reason for the season.
With strong lines and elegant colors, this home is just one of a number of reasons to check out Bronze Eagle Cir. in Logandale.
This display on Tres Lobos in Overton is especially fun and exciting for the kids as they pass by.
